“Maharashtra’s ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’ Trial Success: Rs 3,000 Transferred to Beneficiaries Ahead of Official Launch”

With only a few days remaining before the official launch of Maharashtra’s new “Ladki Bahin Yojana,” the Women and Child Development Department announced a successful trial run on Wednesday. The department revealed that it had transferred Rs 3,000 to the bank accounts of selected beneficiaries on a trial basis, covering two months.

Under the “Mukhya Mantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana,” underprivileged women aged 21 to 65 will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 1,500 from the state government. This scheme, which was unveiled in the state budget at the end of June, is expected to cost the exchequer Rs 46,000 crore annually. The initiative is being launched a few months ahead of the assembly elections, which are scheduled for October.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasized, “We have honored our commitment. We promised to transfer Rs 3,000 (covering two months) to the bank accounts of women beneficiaries, and we have delivered on that promise.”

The scheme aims to provide financial support to women who are economically disadvantaged, reflecting the government’s commitment to social welfare. The successful transfer of funds during the trial phase marks a significant step towards the full implementation of this ambitious program.
